#250178 license

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 09 January 2010 - 06:30 PM in Finances & Work

Thanks, Nessa and Amberandrei, two of my faithful prayer partners.

I pray in agreement with Nessa and Amberandrei asking that You make it so that I receive notification from the insurance company and my license in the mail early this upcoming week. Lord, I would like to start my job search for a second part time job and I need my license for that. Please make my insurance notification and my license the top priority for the people who are handling them and give me great and total favor with them. I pray that everything goes well and smoothly without problem and without delay for my insurance notification and my receiving my license in the mail. Thank You. In Jesus' name, amen.

...all things work together for good to them that love God! This is no idle promise but an assurance that He careth for us and is mindful at all times of our needs.Blessings on you, my friend, as great days lay ahead full of joy and abundant peace!

#250175 nearsighted

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 09 January 2010 - 06:26 PM in Physical Health & Healing

I went to the optometrist recently who told me that my right eye got a lot worse. My right eye nearsightedness jumped from -8 to -9.25. He said a possible reason is me reading too much. Please pray that my nearsightedness doesn't get any worse. Thanks.

Have you been cured of nearsightedness?

#240341 deep valleys

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 31 October 2009 - 04:44 PM in Spiritual & Emotional Needs

I feel like I am between a rock and a hard place. Please pray for me. I feel like the Israelites felt when they were up against the Red Sea before it parted. I need a job. I need income. I would like to have a husband and children of my own. Eight years ago I was so happy before I made terrible decisions and "ruined" my life. Please pray that the Lord will part the Red Sea in my life and make a way for me, financially, careerwise, in my love life (currently nonexistent), social life, and in all other areas of my life. Thanks.

Dear FOP: We recently had prayer for your employment needs. Have you been searching for a particular job assignment? As you know, God expects us to do our part as well. Step out on pure faith when making your rounds; let God do the leading. It is possible that the line of work you desire may not be available in your area. But trust in the Lord...any type of hiring is just as good in the interim. I suspect that you are anxious to be independent with your own furnishings. I also know that your intentions for a married life is a part of your future planning. There are singles programs in most churches. It is not only desirable but mandatory that you consider a partner who is of the elect; saved to the uttermost. We are so admonished to do so in scripture. The Lord will guide you for that arrangement as well. Look for an opportunity for dating. God's Spirit will give you assistance in this, too. Consider each step in your progress for fufillment as in God's Hands. He has never failed.
Oftentimes we assume that he or she is truly saved according to God's plan of redemption. It is not for me to question or judge any in this matter. But few in this Forum have ever given testimony of the decision they made for christ . Sharing your experience with me privately or publicly would help me as I make prayer for your life. We must never become depressed for lack of temporal things ... our treasures are laid up in Heaven! Always, I say always, be joyful in the Lord. Billions are not saved and face a Christless etrnity.
Tonight I will bring your needs again before my Father. Keep me posted on any changes.
Your brother in Christ, Edwin.

#240060 lust

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 29 October 2009 - 08:23 AM in Salvation & Deliverance

Help me in my ongoing struggle with lust. It is like a spiritual Achilles' heel to me. I guess this means that I don't have the gift of celibacy. I pray for my future husband too, whoever he is, that You will help him too if he is struggling with lust. In Jesus' name, amen.

All sin falls into three categories:

Eve saw that it was good to eat (Lust of the eyes)

Eve took thereof and ate (Lust of the flesh)

Eve desired to be wise (Pride of life).

In this technological age of ours, there is no greater weapon of the devil than the Internet. All that is inpure and evil and sinful is only clicks away from our fingertips. To enter that realm of ungodliness, we must first encourage a desire to do so. This may be prompted by idleness or curiosity or a lustful inclination to do so. The tempation is very strong and the flesh is very weak. None of us aare immune from its attractions. But there is a helpful and effective way of overcoming the wiles of the devil. Each day, before commencing the use of the computer, bow your head and ask Jesus to keep you strong from any urges that lead in that sinful direction.Remember: God does not lie. He said that there shall be no tempation but that he will help you in avoiding it!Then at night, when you retire to bed, you can look over the events of the day and be joyful in praise to God that you were safely delivered from those fleshly attractions. You will actually smile for the accomplishment of it because it will add more strength as a defense against future occurrences. The addiction to lustful pleasures only drives one into deeper despair. One finds himself or herself constantly asking for forgiveness.Be strong in the Lord is the ground upon which to stand! This fleshly tabernacle will one day dismember and return to dust. How shall we be found when the Son of God appears to take us home!

#239777 getting back on my feet

Hi brother Edwin,
The reason that I say "please" when I post prayers to God on PrayWay is because when I e-mail people asking them to do something, I use the word "please" so with God I am no less polite with Him than I am with people. It is more of a habit to type "please" rather than not feeling bold when I approach God. When I say my prayers to God, as opposed to posting them, I don't say "please".

Dear God,
I pray that You will place me in whatever job that You see fit. Certainly, I want You to use me to win souls. I pray that You provide me with this job soon because I have bills to pay. Thank You, God. In Jesus' name, amen.

Father: We are told to live and walk by faith. And, most of all, place our complete trust in you. As you know, this child of yours is in need of employment. I join with her in prayer that this desire be met soon and with it all the advantages of a good income, proximity to home, and an environment that is wholesome and pleasing to her. I am absolutely excited over this for I know that even as we pray, things are being prepared for her return to work. Father, we marvel in that this is but one request among millions that ascend to you each day. How thankful we are to be separated unto you as your children. We give you praise and thanks for your wondrous ways. Thank you, dear Father for this time together, and help us to wait upon thee in our hour of need. Amen.

#239708 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us.

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 27 October 2009 - 10:11 AM in The Lounge - Wholesome Talk

I thought that I would share what the Lord has shown me today in His Word and this Word has really spoken to my heart. May we always love one another, not just with words, but in our actions towards one another. Have a great day in the Lord.

1 John 3 (New International Version)

1 John 3

1 How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

2 Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears,[a]we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.

3 Everyone who has this hope in him purifies himself, just as he is pure.

4 Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, sin is lawlessness.

5 But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our sins. And in him is no sin.

6 No one who lives in him keeps on sinning. No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him.

7 Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray. He who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.

8 He who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.

9 No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God.

10 This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother.

Love one another

11 This is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another.

12 Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother's were righteous.

13 Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.

14 We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death.

15 Anyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life in him.

16 This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

17 If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?

18 Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth.

19 This then is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our hearts at rest in his presence

20 whenever our hearts condemn us. For God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.

21 Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God

22 and receive from him anything we ask, because we obey his commands and do what pleases him.

23 And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.

24 Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

...without No.24, none of the above would be possible!

I am trusting in You for a job. I thank You in advance that You will provide me with the right job. All jobs are in Your control. Please let my path cross with the right employer and put it on the right employer's heart to hire me. Please let my future employer be a mature Christian and let my future boss be a mature Christian too. Please place me in a good workplace with God-fearing co-workers. Thank You in advance for answering, God. In Jesus' name, amen.

My dear friend in the Lord: Many of us tend to use the word 'please' when requesting a particular need from our gracious Father of all mercies. Perhaps it is done out of great personal concern for the thing of which we ask. Rather let us come boldly before His Throne of Grace with all of our petitions. He knows even before we ask and His ears are ever bent to our cries. So in praise to His loving understanding of those things which we lack, let us both pray in rejoicing that we have a Father who loves us above all things and will provide for that which we desire in our hearts. Father, prepare the way for my sister's request as we wait upon thee in faith!

Dear Sister-In-Christ: We should all pray to be in those places where our service to the Lord can be used to the saving of souls.

#206557 My life in danger

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 12 April 2009 - 07:06 PM in Physical Health & Healing

Dear friends. I'm 23 and three days ago I had a cardiological attack. I had a problem in my heart since i was a child, maybe since i was born, but this attack made this problem much worse and doctor told me I can't live with it, i need an urgent surgery in another city. He told me that any stress is dangerous for me, but this situation is already big stress, so i could neither eat nor drink three last days. Tonight I hope to go to the capital city and take the surgery tomorrow. Please, pray with me that God will support my heart this day and night, so I can have the surgery done tomorrow.

Dear Aleona13:Assuming that you are the very person inflicted with this urgent need for bodily healing in the area of the heart, I turn to the God who does truly heal and bring hope to all who ask. Trusting that your condition does require the intervention of our Great and Good God, I offer before His Throne of Grace all that you ask for in His Wonderful Name. He knows even before we ask and it is only our trust in His power and love that we are blest with those things of which we ask. I pray with the certainty of faith that you will be released of all anxiety and that your heart wil become whole and healthy to the Glory of God.

#206445 The President Who Told The TRUTH

Who was that president ? What the video and find out.

Here is the link:

Please pray for President Obama.

Angelika: A powerful presentation that will not likely be shown on the media networks. I am familiar with those secret societies whose only objective is to establish a global community of nations under a single currency. Have you noticed how effective they have become in destroying the worth of our American dollar! A few weeks ago David Rockefeller, one of the modern pioneers of this invisible government operating behind the scenes, told a reporter point blankly that he is aware of the controversy behind the different societies and will not hesitate to tell all that he agrees with their mission and wholly supports it! How's that for being right up front! The Council on Foreign Relations, the Bohemian Grove boys, the skull and Bones group, are all master-minding the downfall of our economy and the gradual acceptance of membership under the Global Charter. Everything is being set up for the arrival of the Anti-Christ! This is a serious matter and nothing can be done to reverse it.Angelika has performed a great service in bringing this concern to our attention. Keep your eyes open! It is happening now!

#206344 Prayer for Direction and Discipline

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 10 April 2009 - 06:01 PM in Other Prayers & Prayer Requests

Hello All. I would like to ask you to pray for me as I am studying to take the MCAT (Medical College Admissions Test) this summer. Recently, my discipline has been suffering and I haven't been nearly as motivated as I should be. I believe that if I take care of the little things, then God will take care of the rest, so please pray that I am able to put in the time studying and that His will is done. Also, please pray that He directs me to the medical school that is right for me and my husband....and that I will choose the right specialty. I want to be used in a BIG way and would like for prayers so that I will know where I will be best utilized.

"....taking care of the little things! Before David set out to take on the giant from Gath (Goliath), he first made sure someone took care of his father's sheep.

#206296 Lord does talk to us

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 10 April 2009 - 08:33 AM in The Lounge - Wholesome Talk

I have been a careless, dishonest and rude child of lord...and I dont understand his love for me.I hurt him everytime by doing things against his will but everytime I ask him for anything he listens, he gives me what I need if not what I want..but he does listen.

I have been dealing with frustration and depression at work, I wanted to leave my job, wanted to stay home.I have been doing night shifts..myhealth deterioated overtime.Everyday I wud go and search on internet to look for work from home options but in vain, And it got worst, I was getting consumed in sadness, anger and I stopped going to work, whole day I wud just sleep or cry, wudnt eat anything it continued like dat for about a month when my Mentor at work came home to insist me to resume and I decided to give myself a chance.I started working again and applied for an internal job posting in my company..it was again getting tough at work to deal with people and I asked lord to end all this and call me when he listened and answered my prayers.I had asked him either to call me or give me a better job..I cleared my interview and got selected for the position I had dreamed of.I now have a day shift job and I wrk from home most of the time.I goto work thrice in a month.Lord did listen to me and blessed me.I love you lord.Thankyou lord. Please forgive me lord and help me to deliver from all addictions.

There have been times when lord listened to me and blessed me.One thing I know is that he loves me a lot n one thing I fear is the punishment I deserve for all the wrongdoings.I know what I have been doing is wrng but I dont give in because of temptations I fall into everytime. Please pray for me I dont want lord to not recognize me when I reach his door. Please lord you have chosen me m your child dont never leave me no matter what I do.I love you lord.

"I do not want the Lord not not recognize me when I reach the door". This is an expression that I've not heard before! It is both stunning and beautiful! If we, myself included, looked at every situation in this way, how much more careful we would be with our lives and testimonies! Thank you, Rajni, for this very sublime and admonishing thought!

#206252 Giving up on 31 year marriage

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 09 April 2009 - 09:21 PM in Marriage & Family

oh, and also mr. Vogt, your words are quite insightful and I will dwell on them this evening.

I will be leaving again Prayway for a short time. Periodically I drop in to see how things are headed in this crazy world of bewilderment and tragedy. But I shall keep alive the request of this young man, ChristianSoldier, with the absolute belief that all things shall come together for good. Please tell your mother that I will be praying for her and thinking of her each day. It will be the joy of my heart to hear of her spiritual healing! I trust God in all this . The God we know and serve is more closer to us than the skin on our bodies! Prayer, humbly and earnestly brought before the Throne of Grace, will do all that we ask and hope for. Oh, God, give strength, blessing, and the assurance that all that he asks will be given unto him. May peace again reign supreme in this home.

#206239 Giving up on 31 year marriage

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 09 April 2009 - 08:05 PM in Marriage & Family

Hello all. This is my first post and sole reason for joining this site--to pray for my parents. A bit of background is that my parents have been married going on 32 years and for the past year things have increasingly deteriorated. The worst part of it all is that my father, who is a deacon and adult bible school teacher at his church is completely resistant to God. He says "I know that a divorce is against God's will and that it would completely destroy your mother and me in the process, but I don't care." He has decided (erroneously might I add) that my mother is carrying on an email affair with an old college friend. I have been praying for this situation for the longest time and now I'm tired. I'm 27, newly married and I can't fight their war for them. I've lost sleep, hair, gotten bad grades in grad school all over this situation. I need help, so, I'm asking that more experienced, stronger christians help me out. Please pray:
1. That God will soften both of their hearts
2. They will start listening to each other and truly 'see' one another
3. That they will let go of the hurts of their past
4. That the evil spirits of doubt, fear, suspicion, and any others would be removed
5. That my dad will become more self-critical and stop placing blame
6. That God's will will be done.

Please, if you know anything else to add, please do. I'm sure that many of you
are more experienced than i.

Dear ChristianSoldier:

What we are dealing with here is a triangle of confusion intermixed with selfishness and mistrust. In these last, final days before the Coming of the Lord in Glory, the three of you should sit down together so that the folowing can be emphasized and not too strongly.

1. Shall any be unfaithful at a time in which we are drawing closer to a climax in the scheme of prophetic things? But more seriousely, where does all of this lead to? To the mother we should direct this question: What is your true intent with this situation? And is offending God worth the results? We must think of the eternities . The problem here is that we tend to close our minds to the things of God.We allow temporary, sensual pleasures to lead us astray. The problems that result from these actions are never considered. We purposely avoid facing reality for the sake of selfish goals. The father and mother should close their eyes and think back to that time at the altar when they declared love one for another.

2. The fact that the son here is hurt and trying to help becomes even more interesting. And why? Is this not the role of the parents to bring peace to the situation? But here we have the son, out of pure love, praying and hoping for a blessed conclusion to it all. Oh, shame, shame, on the mother if she is so guilty of unfaithfulness. Is it worth, dear Mother, the agony of the son you brought into the world? Oh, Mother, thank God, thank God for such a loving son! Will you continue to break his heart and hopes?

3. Dear Father, I plead the cause of this young man.Thou knowest the pain he bears. We now lean upon you for the saving of this marriage and a return to that happiness that brings only peace and blessing. Spread abroad in their hearts this need for pure love.I ask this for my brother here who loves you and serves you. Amen!

Thank you in Advance

#205940 The Terribleness of War

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 07 April 2009 - 05:06 PM in The Lounge - Wholesome Talk

Yesterday I saw a sight more sadder than any ever seen in my lifetime: a young boy, perhaps ten years of age, being handed the American flag in tribute to his father who had fallen in combat. The photo, emailed to me by a friend, broke my heart. Normally the procedure is for an adult to receive the honors at the flag folding ceremony executed at the grave site. But I suppose the next in kin simply wanted the boy to be the receiver of the honors. The picture was a close-up showing a Marine Corps officer kneeling down to the level of the boys wistful gaze. You could see the tremendous hurt in the lad's eyes , yet he remained stoic and stood straight. The tenderness shown in the officer's face was simply crushing. But there was in it revealed, too, a message that this grateful nation was honored to give reverence for so great a sacrifice.I have wondered if the boy really understood this whole business of war and duty and loyalty to one's country. Or is he just an innocent victim of the sudden absence of a father in his life. Few pictures of tragic circumstances have left me with an impression such as this one. Those two faces aligned with each other can do nothing less than break the heart of America! But I suppose even more, show us in the most horrendous way the terribleness of war!

#205765 Swaggart and Solomon

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 06 April 2009 - 05:47 PM in The Lounge - Wholesome Talk

Three of the most amazing and dynamic characters of scripture all had an encounter with weakness and the flesh: Moshe,David, and Solomon. But my concentration here is on Solomon who, after master-minding the construction of God's earthly Temple, later fell into the old ways of worshipping false idols, and Swaggart, who stunned the religious right with his wholly unexpected behaviour. But did both, as the children of Israel did when tiring of the manna from heaven, seek after the leeks and the onions and the garlic of Egypt? These are types of the pleasures of this world. As one who reads and studies Holy Writ, I still cannot understand the cause of Solomon's downfall. A rational mind might even regard such a condition is nearly impossible considering the stature of the man and his close kinship with the God of the Hebrews. Since Adam's day, no one has held such a lofty position and been blest with so much as Solomon. How could anything divert him from a true belief and fellowship with the very God whose manifestation to him was a real and living experience? But it happened! Earlier this week I made a comparison between Swaggart's slide into perdition and Solomon's crushing disobedience. My pastor friend could not accept such an identity in this way. But observe the likes of Swaggart who, blest with a beautiful wife and all the trappings of a great and prosperous career, chose to depart from righteousness and embrace the terribleness of a sinful adventure And to what end? The effects of his downfall could not be more damaging to those outside of God's elect. We tend to dismiss such spiritual calamities as proof of the desperate and sinful condition of the human heart. But men who have had every means of defense against the onslaught of the adversary, disappoint us far greater than any who fall prey to temptation.

#205748 The House Of the Lord

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 06 April 2009 - 04:34 PM in The Lounge - Wholesome Talk

Yes, and not only that, all we have to do is just look at the great forests of the earth, the seas, the animals upon the earth and in our oceans, lakes and streams, the birds of all species, the great mountain ranges, the flowers with all their different colours, sizes, and fragrances, all of the trees that bear fruit for those that hunger and homes for the birds. The blue sky and the sun above us in the day, the moon and the myriad of stars above us at nite, along with all of the planets and solar systems. All of the differant races of mankind, all speaking in their own native tongues, and He watches as each and everyone of is being formed in our mothers' womb and knows our very thoughts and motives and hears all of our prayers and lovingly and faithfully answers them, and provides us with every good thing that we need.
Then there is all of Heaven with all of it's mysteries and wonders also spoken into being by our Almighty God. All that He designed came out of His creative imagination, created for His purpose and motivated by LOVE. What an awesome God we serve, so full of Majesty, Honour, Truth, Forgiveness, Mercy and Holiness, for in Him we will find no flaws or lies. He is the total embodiment of perfection, and He reigns forever ! That truly amazes me to no end, and what a blessing it is to have Him in our lives, the God of ALL creation. WOW ! Now doesn't that blow your mind ? LOL !

I just came in for a breather but, WOW, Angelika, you just took my breath away! A wonderfully, praiseworthy expose on the awesomeness of our Almighty God! I shall have it printed out as a constant reminder of the ever-abiding presence of our King and Saviour! Thank you for giving your time to this and as always a blessing to all! Love ya!

Outside of all that pertains to Christ, there is nothing as exciting as the building of the House of the Lord by Solomon and his workmen. All the hammering and sawing were done from a distance and the parts, when finished, brought to the site for assembly. And so this spiritual edifice, enblazoned with gold overlaid on cedars ,arose before their Mighty God in silence! But as I began reading further the details of its construction, my heart started to race. For what we have here is that which few have recognized and given pause to muse upon! Look at the wordage here! The plan (or blueprints) of this design, were formulated by the Living God!No mortal man could have had the conception for this project. Its originality is beyond our scope of perception! And yet here it is...step by step as ordered by their One and True God! It is difficult for me to convey fully the complexity of what I struggle to describe. We may think, too, of Noah's Ark and how even to this day its engineering feat astounds the thinking of men in associative fields. But this Temple for worship should stagger our imagination.Left to the devices of mere man, do we think that such splendor and glory could have risen as likened to that of the Almighty God? This whole account is found in 1st Kings:6. Does it mention God's direct involvement? No, not in verse form, but implied in the wisdom He bestowed upon Solomon. For in every arrangement, there lies therein the purposes of God in His dealings with man.

#191211 Prayer For Brother Joseph

Posted by Edwin Vogt on 11 January 2009 - 02:39 PM in Physical Health & Healing

To my dear friends on Prayway: Received news today that my brother, Joseph, has been removed to a hospital in Cooperstown, New York, and is under sedation in the intensive care room. For years he has been a heavy and frequent smoker. I believe it has severely damaged his lungs and is affecting his heart. I expect to visit him either Monday next or Tuesday. This is again an opportunity to show him the seriouseness of his situation and his need for salvation. If any would like to send him a card, I will report later with his room number and address of Hospital. But your prayers now are urgently needed. I am asking my Heavenly Father that there will still be time for me to witness to Joseph and that he will be receptive to your bidding for his soul.My thanks to all who read this plea as I continually pray for all your own needs.
